This morning, I had orientation for my new job. Since I was unsure how casual to go, I ended up wearing dark blue jeggings from Hollister, a half button collared shirt from J. Crew, a denim jacket that I got from H&M a few years ago and some simple ballet flats that I’d already kicked off after taking these pictures. The pants were pretty tight, probably too tight to wear to work but since they’re dark, its hard to tell that they’re completely clung to my skin. I decided that I might as well keep it simple since I didn’t know what to wear so that meant no jewelry, scarves or even make up.
After the orientation, I decided to put on some makeup and record a sort of smokey eye tutorial with the pinkish nude lips you see here. The lip color is comet from the Rimmel London Showoff Lip Lacquer line. I think I’ve fallen in love with it, to be completely honest.
As for my hair, this is a braid out. For the first time in about two years, I decided to try a side part. Before I cut all my hair off, I would wear side pats all the time because I felt that a middle part made my face too symmetric, its really not something I can explain but I just would never wear a middle part. When I went natural, the only type of part I could get was a middle one because my hair was too short to actually fall to the opposite side, if that makes sense. So for months now, I’ve been a middle parter.
Now for the more important part of this post, Ive just begun doing the LOC method. This stands for Liquid Oil Cream and for me, this means Giovanni Direct Leave in, Jojoba Oil and Whipped Shea Butter. Something else thats new is that I’ve started washing my hair using the mud wash again. It actually leaves my hair so moisturized that I don’t even need to do the LOC method (I still do though, just to be sure that my hair is as healthy as I can get it).
Also, todays my brothers birthday so happy birthday to him and my cousin destiny aka djenesis got into Howard! So proud of them both.
